Which I know is odd, since it came on last Saturday. But whatever. Justin Timberlake made yet another classic episode by hosting.
First up, a goofy, but oddly entertaining trip to Ellis Island. If only our great-grandparents truly dared to dream...
Weekend Update had a visit from some of the stars of the Star Trek film. As funny as this is, I know that somewhere, there are still nerds mounting protests. I weep on the inside.
And to close things out, a soon to be classic Digital Short. I think everyone went into the episode wondering if they would revisit the greatest white R&B group of our generation, and Timberlake and Samberg prove once again that no holiday is safe.
And yes, that is Susan Sarandon. I'm still impressed by the sheer star power that Samberg can wrangle in a pinch.
All in all, a good episode. Very hard to pull just a handful of items out, so wander over to the NBC.com homepage for more highlights, or just be on the lookout for a re-air.

What a fabulous trio you've selected! Thanks for reminding me what a fun show SNL can be when it has a truly gifted host! The calibre of the writing, the acting, even the atmosphere on the stage - all excellent!
I'm not entirely sure what made this season in general so solid. I know that host selection was above average for most of it. There were a lot of SNL alums, repeat hosts, and even the selected "random, non-actor" hosts weren't entirely bad (Michael Phelps, I'm glaring in your general direction...).
It seems like the show took more of a back to basics approach, and it's working with a cast that seems to cover their niches well. Hopefully they keep the pace going next season.
By the way, Andy Sandler was on Jay Leno's show last night and - are you ready for this - they aired the Mother's Day video! Wow, late night tv is definitely more daring than it once was. You could hear folks in the audience gasp when the song hit "we should f* each other's mothers, f* each other's moms!" Delicious.
