Demon negotiation is a tricky business in the world of Shin Megami Tensei. And why on earth are so many demons disturbingly playful children who know grown up things they should not know? If you weren't helping me fight evil, I would totally leave you guys alone...

My guess is the demons watch tv, just like human children. Super scary!
They probably do... and worse. You honestly can't play a Shin Megami Tensei game without seeing at least one demon do or say something that you'll find emotionally scarring.
... and that's what makes them demons, their propensity for doing such evil! "Bad demon" is a bit redundant, eh?
See, years of Buffy and Angel have placed in my head the notion that there can be good demons or even neutral demons. It takes playing this game for a while to remember that not all versions of the genre follow that system.
